June Folks

Trust Means Responsibility.

Every endeavor begins with a choice, and that choice sets the course for everything that follows. Yet on its own, it remains only an intention. Only by staying true to that path in every decision can intention become principle.

Principles endure only while each new decision continues to follow the same course. And over time, that consistency earns trust.

The same applies to games. A developer also makes a fundamental choice: what kind of game to create, what emotions it should evoke, and who it is meant for. Every decision that follows either reinforces that vision or gradually turns the game into something else.

That is why we believe the trust of our players is our responsibility — the responsibility to make decisions worthy of that trust.

Who we are

We are June Folks, the development team behind Entropos.

Before becoming developers, we spent many years as ordinary players, and we still are. We grew up with games, and over time became increasingly interested in why some design decisions work while others do not. We discussed games among ourselves, spoke with their developers, and even ran a YouTube channel dedicated to tactical shooters.

Gradually, we developed a very clear idea of what the next major tactical shooter should be. It should offer freedom of action while remaining intuitive, without sacrificing depth for accessibility — the elusive balance where hardcore mechanics feel natural and players can make decisions by relying on common sense. Every such decision should have a meaningful impact on the game, which means that freedom must come with responsibility. In our view, this is the kind of shooter capable of creating intense, genuine emotions.

We began to notice the same demand among other players. At some point, a simple thought emerged: if we understood what kind of game we wanted, and what many others were waiting for, why not try to create it ourselves? We knew the genre, we had the determination, and we had some savings to take the risk. And this is how development of Entropos began on June 13, 2023.

Today, Entropos is being developed by a team of 15 people from different parts of the world: programmers, artists, animators, designers, and specialists from other disciplines, all united by a common goal — to bring the original vision of Entropos to life and justify the trust of those supporting us along the way.

Practice

Entropos has followed a clear direction from the very beginning of development. The game is not being built around a collection of separate interesting ideas — every decision is considered in the context of that direction. Even a good idea must first prove that it will genuinely improve the game.

From there, almost every decision becomes a search for balance between time and complexity, cost, reliability, flexibility for the team, and the experience the player ultimately receives. We avoid choosing whatever is easiest in the moment, while also refusing to pursue the most complicated solution merely because it appears more impressive. We examine the advantages and consequences of each approach and choose the one that will work best specifically for Entropos.

Our independence allows us to consider how a decision made today will perform a year or two from now. Once we are confident that we have found the solution the game truly needs, we do not compromise on the quality of its execution, even when that approach takes more time.

Of course, it is impossible to anticipate everything, so many decisions are tested together with the players. We follow feedback closely, answer questions, explain our intentions, discuss suggestions, and test new ideas in practice. The final decision, however, remains with the team. As always, every idea is judged by how well it fits Entropos.

Future

Entropos is our first game and the beginning of the June Folks path. We do not know how many games we will create over the next ten or twenty years, but we know what kind of team we want to remain: true to our chosen direction, willing to listen to players while preserving our own vision, and accountable for every decision we make.

Trust is built through more than a single decision or a single game. It grows over years of consistent actions and the ability to carry the same principles from one project to the next. Ultimately, we want the June Folks logo to tell players what they can expect before they even launch the game.
